Auditor General of Bhutan visits the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India

On kind invitation by Shri Shashi Kant Sharma, the Comptroller & Auditor General of India,  a four member delegation led by Tshering Kezang, Auditor General of Bhutan visited the Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi and its three nodal training institutes from 18th to 27th September 2015; International Centre for Information and Systems Audit (iCISA), Noida, Uttar Pradesh, International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED), Jaipur, Rajasthan and the National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

On 20.09.2015, the delegates visited the International Centre for Information and Systems Audit (iCISA), Noida  and called on Shri Roy Mathrani, Director General of the Institute and attended to a brief presentation on  various trainings imparted by the institute. To enhance the RAA’s participation in the numerous trainings imparted by the iCISA, an issue on relaxation of  criteria  for availing trainings under ITEC or TCS Colombo Plan was discussed.

On 21.09.2015, the delegates called on Shri Shashi Kant Sharma, the Comptroller Auditor General (C&AG) of India and formally discussed on relaxation of restriction imposed on ITEC and Colombo Plan trainings, revival of the field attachment of the RAA Auditors in the State Accountant General’s Office in India, involvement of RAA with the C&AG India in conducting UN Audits, conduct of Joint Performance Audit of the PHPA-I and enhancing of exchange programmes . The C&AG of India assured to render co-operation in all possible areas of common interests.

The delegation visited the International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED), Jaipur on 22.09.2015 and called on  Shri Sunil S Dadhe, the Director General of the institute and held discussion on  the possibility of exchanging expertise/resource persons in environment audits. Following day, the Hon’ble Auditor General and his team visited the National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla  and addressed the 2013 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IAAS) Trainee Officers.

The Auditor General and his delegates returned Bhutan on 27.09.2015.
