Strengthening Quality Assurance in SAIs

Krishna P. Adhikari, Senior Audit Officer, participated in a two-week design meeting held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 11th to 22nd September 2017 as a part of the 3i programme – Phase II of the lNTOSAI Development Initiatives (IDI). He was invited to participate as resource person in the workshop to create a pool of quality assurance reviewers in English-speaking regions.

In order to support the strengthening of quality assurance function in Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI), the IDI plans to reposition the iCATs (lSSAl Compliance Assessment Tool) to develop quality assurance tools and guidance for financial, performance and compliance audits. The materials designed during the workshop will then be delivered in Tbilisi, Georgia from 4th to 10th November 2017.

The participant from RAA was actively involved in the activities to conduct the iCAT in SAI Bhutan and has undergone prior QA training, conducted by the lDl. His experience and expertise in the area, is expected to contribute and add tremendous value to the future works for supporting SAls in implementing lSSAls.
