DAG visits OAAG, Phuentsholing
Deputy Auditor General, DFRHRM visited Office of Assistant Auditor’s General, Phuentsholing and met with all the officials on 15th August 2018.
During the meeting, DAG shared his concerns and the challenges faced by the RAA due to increasing trends of employees leaving the organization and creating the gaps. Despite the many challenges, he reiterated that auditors need to work hard in fulfilling the aspirations of the government in auditing and reporting on the use of public resources. The DAG reminded the auditors about some of the important resolutions taken during the AAG’s Audit Plan meeting in Tsirang and the Audit Thrust Areas identified for FY 2018-2019 and reiterated on compliance to the reporting standards & guidelines in place.
The auditors shared their concerns regarding lacuna in the audit clearance system, fixing of accountability on contractors, need for a oversight supervisory accountability, validation of the accountability statements, difficulty in meeting the audit reporting deadlines, having pre-engagement activities in the beginning for the agency allocated to a team, and ambiguity created in the entitlement of employees.
The DAG encouraged all to work hard with full dedication and commitment and strive harder to achieve greater success and reminded all to continue to work in the same team spirit and extend full trust and cooperation to their supervisor. In the evening, the DAG hosted a dinner to all the officials of OAAG, Phuentsholing. The DAG returned to Thimphu on 16th August, 2018.
