Newly Appointed Auditor General joins the Royal Audit Authority
On the auspicious early hour of the day, Tshering Kezang, the newly appointed Auditor General joined the Office of the Auditor General, Royal Audit Authority today. Proceeding with the traditional ‘Zhukdrel Phuensumtshokp’ ceremony, the audit fraternity welcomed and offered ‘Tashi Khaddar’ as a symbol of offering their hearty congratulations and good wishes for successful tenure for the next five years. Following the event, the new Auditor General formally took charge of the Office from the RAA’s Executive Committee; the body which was assigned to oversee the daily functions of the RAA on the completion of term of the former Auditor General, Dasho Ugen Chewang.
Tshering Kezang joined the Civil Service in 1989 as a trainee officer and started his career as the Assistant Finance Officer under the Ministry of Health and Education and served till the year 1995 where he became the full-fledged Finance Officer. In 1995, he joined the Royal Audit Authority as a Senior Finance Officer and gradually rose to the post of Head of Regional Office, RAA, Tsirang. In 2007 he had to switch over his profession from Auditing and Accounting to an Administrator when he got promoted as the District Governor (Dzongdag) of Lhuntse District (Dzongkhag) and served till March 2013. Later he was transferred to Pemagatshel District as Dzongdag where he had served till his recent appointment.
Tshering Kezang has good hands on experience in audit. He has Masters Degree in Professional Accountancy from ECU in Perth, Australia. He is also a recipient of the Druk Yuegyal medal, the highest military honor as a member of the Militia awarded by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
