Audit Advocacy and Awareness Programme for Central and Eastern Bhutan
The Fifth Phase of the Audit Advocacy and Awareness Programme for the stakeholders of Central and Eastern Bhutan covered six Dzongkhags of Trongsa, Bumthang, Lhuentse, Monggar, Trashiyangtse and Trashigang. During the programme, the Hon’ble Auditor General met with the Lams and Lopens of the Rabdeys, officials from the Dzongkhags Administrations, Royal Court of Justices, Local Government Leaders, representatives of Royal Bhutan Police and Royal Bhutan Army and heads of regional offices including Corporations and Financial Institutes.
The programme also delivered to selected Institutes and Central Schools including Rangjung Technical Training Institute, Autsho Central School, Drametse Central School and Khaling Central School. The Hon’ble Auditor General talked about the ‘Roles and Responsibilities of the Royal Audit Authority in promoting accountability and transparency in the use of Public Resources’. The stakeholders were also sensitized on the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) and Financial Resources Management Accountability Index (FRMAI).
The current programme started on 14th March, 2017 and ended today at Nganglam. With this, the RAA has covered all ten ministries and sixteen Dzongkhags. Next phase of the Programme will cover, Samdrup Jongkhar, Pemagatshel, Zhemgang and Gasa Dzongkhags.
