INTRODUCTION
 
INTOSAI Standing Committee on IT Audit (ISCITA) 

The Supreme Audit Institutions around the world became aware of the importance of developing the knowledge and skills that enable the effective audit and use of IT (EDP). Therefore during the XIII INCOSAI (International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions) held at Berlin in 1989, the members of INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) decided to form a Standing Committee on IT Audit. 

At its 34^th Meeting the Governing Board of INTOSAI appointed the Comptroller and Auditor General of India as the Chairman of the committee. Since then the Committee met 13 times with the last meeting being held at Moscow in 2004. 

The main aim of the Committee is to support various Supreme Audit Institutions in developing their knowledge and skills in the use and audit of Information Technology by providing information and facilities for exchanging experiences and encouraging bilateral and regional cooperation. 

The Following are the members of the Committee; 

The Committee meets annually. During the 11^th Committee meeting in 2002, the members unanimously voted for Bhutan to host the 14^th Meeting in 2005. The 14^th Meeting of the Committee will be held at Paro, Bhutan from 27^th - 29^th April 2005.
