RAA Holds Press Conference on Annual Audit Report 2024-25

The Royal Audit Authority (RAA) held a key press conference on January 1, 2026, on the Annual Audit Report (AAR) 2024-25. The event was led by the Hon’ble Auditor General, with active participation from Deputy Auditor General, Assistant Auditors General and senior officials, who engaged with media representatives by answering questions and providing detailed clarifications.

The conference witnessed a wide turnout from multiple media houses, ensuring comprehensive coverage and dissemination of the report’s findings to the public.

The press conference highlighted the Annual Financial Statements of the Royal Government of Bhutan for the year ended 30 June 2025,audit irregularities identified under ‘Fraud’ and ‘Errors’ across key functional areas,trends of irregularities over the years,key audit recommendations, and theoverall impact of audit interventions.

In line with its constitutional and legal mandates, the RAA formally submitted the AAR 2024-25 to His Majesty The King, the Prime Minister, and the Parliament, in compliance with Article 25(5) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan and Chapter 6, Section 111 of the Audit Act of Bhutan 2018. The report was subsequently tabled during the Joint Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth Parliament on December 26, 2025.

The AAR 2024-25 provides a comprehensive overview of key areas requiring attention to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public sector operations. This publication reaffirms the RAA’s commitment to good governance, fiscal discipline, and strengthening accountability mechanisms across Bhutan.
