The Royal Audit Authority (RAA) received its Auditor General, Dasho Tashi with a simple tendrel ceremony today, on 20 October 2020. Dasho visited the RAA chhoesham to offer butter lamps and recite His Majesty’s Zhabten before being received into his Chamber for formal assumption of office.
Following a marchhang ceremony, Dasho Tashi took over the charges of RAA from the Acting Auditor General, Ugyen Dorji. The Handing-Taking of office was carried out in the presence of distinguished guests and senior officials of the RAA. Dasho was accompanied by his family, the Governor, two Zimpon Wogms and staff from his former office, the His Majesty’s Secretariat.
Dasho Tashi is the 3rd Auditor General appointed by His Majesty the King under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan. The Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority is appointed by the Druk Gyalpo from a list of eminent persons recommended jointly by the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of Bhutan, the Speaker, the Chairperson of the National Council and the Leader of the Opposition Party.
