Renewal of Memorandum of Understanding between the Royal Audit Authority of Bhutan and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India

Dasho Jamtsho, Auditor General of Bhutan, accompanied by a delegation from the Royal Audit Authority (RAA), undertook a four-day official visit to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in New Delhi. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. K. Sanjay Murthy, Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

The primary objective of the visit was the renewal and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs). The MoU, first signed in 2001, has been consistently renewed every six years, reflecting the enduring partnership between the two institutions.

The renewed MoU reaffirms the shared commitment of both SAIs to strengthening cooperation in public sector auditing. Key areas of collaboration include:

  • Capacity building and professional development
  • Exchange of technical expertise and knowledge
  • Joint learning initiatives and study visits
  • Promotion of best practices in public sector auditing

This continued collaboration underscores the strong bonds of friendship, trust, and mutual respect between the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Republic of India. The partnership also contributes to enhancing transparency, accountability, and good governance in both countries.
