The RAA commenced its First Quarterly Review Meeting for the Financial Year 2026-27 at the Professional Development Centre (PDC), Tsirang. The two-day meeting, being held from 7-8 October 2026, is reviewing first-quarter progress, key achievements, implementation challenges and priorities for the remaining period of the financial year.
A key highlight of the meeting was the launch of the Framework for Strengthening Audit Compliance and Accountability: A Balanced Carrot and Stick Approach. The Framework provides a structured approach to encourage timely and effective implementation of audit recommendations by combining recognition for good compliance with appropriate accountability measures for persistent non-compliance.
The RAA also launched the Social Media Strategy & Governance Framework 2025-2030, which provides strategic direction and governance arrangements for the effective use of social media and digital platforms to strengthen public communication, transparency, awareness and stakeholder engagement.
The meeting also showcased digital initiatives under the Smart Audit Platform Project, including a Learning Management System and a Financial Statement Consolidator developed to automate and streamline the consolidation of financial statements. The consolidator is designed to significantly reduce the time and manual effort involved in the process while improving consistency and accuracy.
The meeting also reviewed the Annual Operational Plan 2026-27, identifying areas requiring attention and priorities for the subsequent quarters. The First Quarterly Review Meeting concludes on 8 October 2026.
