Appointment of New Auditor General of Bhutan

Dasho Jamtsho is the 4th Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) appointed by His Majesty the King under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan on 28 October 2025. The Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority is appointed by the Druk Gyalpo from a list of eminent persons recommended jointly by the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of Bhutan, the Speaker, the Chairperson of the National Council and the Leader of the Opposition Party.

Prior to his appointment as the Auditor General, Dasho Jamtsho has served as Commissioner with the Anti-Corruption Commission from July 2015 till June 2020 and was reappointed as the commissioner for the second term in October 2020. Dasho is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom. Dasho joined civil service as a trainee officer in 1993 and served in various capacities in the RAA for 22 years as Joint Auditor General, Deputy Auditor General and Chief.
